ABOUT GENESIS

I've been playing harmonica for 13 years.  I was quickly disappointed by the leaky or warped mass-produced wood and plastic combs available. I experimented with every conceivable process via wood and metalworking equipment with unsatisfactory results.  After much research, I realized CNC technology was my only option for a dimensionally perfect product.

I began producing these by CNC for myself and professional artists in 1998.  After many requests from a growing clientele, I decided to make these available to all discerning harp aficionados.

Genesis Harmonicas was officially established in 2005.  I have years of comprehensive knowledge and experience, meaning that I am able to provide the highest quality in cutting-edge harmonica design.

THE PROCESS

The raw Corian is first planed to thickness then finished on a rotary lapping table for extreme flatness, which negates the need for any gasketing. Each comb is checked for accuracy on a certified granite surface plate against a dial indicator. From there it is CNC machined. The comb is then drilled for the customer's reed plate choice. If the cover plates are opened up for more volume, braces are added to prevent cover plates from distorting. Before assembly, all reeds are tuned with a Conn ST-11 mechanical strobe tuner and brought to customer's pitch preference. All reeds are then gapped for crisp attack across the entire register for even response. The plates are then sanitized and reassembled.

The final product is breathtaking, both visually and audibly.
